VESTA-158 – open the original manual at Vesta

Battery/power: 1 × CR123, 3 V lithium

Before you start: check the full model name. Agreement test/service with the alarm provider before opening. Keep fastening and placement. On real smoke or fire: manage the danger first.

1. Take down or open

  1. Loosen the bottom retaining screw and remove the cover. Leave the probe cable and mounting base undisturbed.

2. Bytt batteri / lad

  1. Remove the battery. Press the tamper switch or Learn/Test button a few times.
  2. Insert a new CR123 following the positive and negative markings in the holder.

3. Put together and in place

  1. Refit the cover and secure the bottom screw without trapping the probe cable.

4. Test and confirm normal operation

  1. Press Learn/Test in the agreed test mode. Check the signal and temperature display.

Attach and Mount

  1. For new mounting, screw the base through the two knockouts or use a suitable new adhesive pad on a smooth, clean surface. Keep the external probe in its documented position.

Help when the product does not work

Wireless sensor: Read battery and connection state in the system. For low battery, use the model battery guide and check the battery type and whether it is replaceable. Note new metal objects or other changes near the sensor.

Choose the symptom and check the model scope before following the steps. This is troubleshooting, not a list of confirmed product defects.

Temperature sensor: implausible value or no update

  1. Check the correct device, measurement unit and last update time. An old value is not a new measurement.
  2. Check whether the sensor or external probe has moved, is covered or is affected by sun, draughts or heat. Do not pull out a fixed probe.
  3. Compare with a suitable thermometer at the same location after stabilisation. Record the difference and time period for support.

Check the result: You can distinguish a stale/misplaced reading from a possible sensor fault.

Stop and get help: Do not change alarm thresholds to hide discrepancies. For frost risk or critical temperatures, contact the responsible person promptly.
