The alarm is sounding – what should I do?

Start here for a technical fault without ongoing danger. Tick each check as you complete it.

Follow these steps

First assess whether there may be fire, intrusion or another danger. If there is danger, move to safety and use the appropriate emergency number.
Once you have established that it is a false activation, use your normal authorised control to disarm the correct area. Open the guide for your system below.
Read the event log: which device and time started the alarm? Note this before making further changes.
If you have alarm reporting, follow the agreed monitoring-station procedure. A silent siren does not confirm that a response has been cancelled.
